Shipping to India

The customer is obligated to ensure the following steps are met before shipment:

  • Proceed with the steps provided by FedEx company on this website: https://kyc.fedex.com
  • The recipient must obtain this document on their own – they need to go through verification by presenting an identity document, proof of address (the one to which the package will be sent), and, most likely, a bank statement or contract confirming their income.
  • Before we send the package, the recipient must submit this document to FedEx.
  • The buyer’s data on the invoice, the recipient’s information on the shipping label, and the details in the KYC document must all match, including the phone number and email address.
  • Lack of KYC may result in fines, storage fees for the package, and its return to us, which are the buyer’s expense.

2. Buyer must provide IEC Number – Importer-Exporter Code. According to the Indian government website, anyone who imports goods must have this code, which the customs office will require. It is a one-time code, so it is also the recipient’s responsibility to obtain it: https://www.dgft.gov.in/CP/. Apparently, it also needs to be included in the KYC document.

3. It is very likely that FedEx will require payment confirmation from the recipient.

4. For further information, please check the FedEx FAQ regarding documentation: https://kyc.fedex.com/#/frequently-asked-questions.
In case of any issues, please contact FedEx directly at kycdocs@fedex.com or india@fedex.com.

5. Please note that if the package is returned to us due to missing documents on your end or failure to pay any additional duties, we are not responsible for the return. You will be obligated to cover all costs associated with returning the package.
