What is dishing/offsetting and trimming exactly?

❓Do I need these modifications?

Fitting a SUPERWIDE tire on the rear wheel may cause it to rub against the chain. To prevent this, we apply the necessary modifications to ensure proper clearance.

🛠️ Dishing / Offsetting

Dishing (or offsetting) means the rim is shifted slightly to the left during the spoke lacing process. This is done by adjusting spoke and nipple lengths on each side to move the rim into the correct position. It’s a standard procedure, and most of our customers choose dished wheels — especially when using wider rear tires.

✂️ Trimming

Trimming refers to shaving or cutting down the tire knobs to improve clearance when necessary.

✅ Our Recommendation

We highly recommend the Dishing option — it ensures proper chain clearance without sacrificing grip on either side of the tire.
